Google Ads API Limitations: What HYPD Cannot Access

Data that Google does not expose through its API — Auction Insights, QS labels, PMax channels.

HYPD connects through the official Google Ads API.

The API covers most campaign data, but Google keeps a few features UI-only. This is a Google constraint, not a HYPD limitation — no API-based tool can access these.

Auction Insights — not available

Competitive auction metrics are not exposed by the API at all: impression share vs. competitors, overlap rate, position above rate, top of page rate vs. competitors. To view them, use the Google Ads UI.

Quality Score labels — partially available

  • Available: numeric scores (1–10) for Quality Score, Expected CTR, Ad Relevance, and Landing Page Experience.
  • Not available: the "Above average / Average / Below average" labels — those are UI-only shorthand for the numeric scores HYPD can already analyze.

Performance Max channel breakdown — not available

Breakdowns of PMax performance by channel (Search, Display, YouTube, Gmail, Discover) are not exposed via the API. Use the Google Ads UI for asset group performance by channel.

Everything else

All other campaign data, metrics, and dimensions available through the API are fully accessible to HYPD. If you are unsure whether something is covered, just ask HYPD — or see "How HYPD Works" in Getting Started.
